Richard:

Today, I was in 90 degree heat and high humidity - I could have used the cool waters of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.  It looks absolutely lovely.

More great photos. And good advice for keeping the toes both cool, then warm =)

The Smoky mountains are very nice.  I have friends and neighbors who go there quite a bit.  At my age the beach just doesn't do much for me any more, but the cool mountains, now we are talking.

Great pictures.  I love the Smokies.  I can just image how wonderful that fresh mountain air would feel right now as I am sweltering here in Florida.

This statement is amazing, "over 2/3 if the country's population live within a day's drive from the park boundaries."  We really are much heavier populated on the east coast than the west coast, aren't we?

Richard,

I remember flying from NJ to Atlanta GA in a rented Cessna, and when I got to the Smokies, I came down to about 1,000 feet, and followed them for hours.  Thanks for the photos.
