Great Smoky Mountains National Park Blog by Richard Weisser of SmokyPhotos.com

This battle weary blogger needs a break, so here are some nice Great Smoky Mountain photos for the day!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park by Richard WeisserIt has been an interesting and controversial weekend. I have engaged in mental sparring with a lot of people that are much smarter than me, and it has taken its toll!

My ability to move quickly on my feet has diminished with each passing year. It is a new world, completely different from the one I grew up in so many years ago.

The best part the passing of time, though, is that each year the Great Smoky Mountains revert one year more back to a more pristine state. In the nearly forty years that I have frequented the park, the changes are dramatic.

The trees are bigger, the balds are grown over, and the overall look and feel is more natural and serene.

Have a great day!

Richard, I know what you mean. I am battle weary too, not from AR, from RL. So, thank you for the photos, is my favorite time of year that you posted, you must have read my mind. I am going to gaze a bit more!

And by the way, I can't say you aren't quick on your feet. I think that you probably lead the pack with your internet marketing, so there!

The problem is that unkindness and rudeness is not in your nature. You are a gentleman and a scholar, a poet and of course an artist, on top of being a realtor, LOL. Now that would tire anyone out.

Richard, hmmm, mental sparring...sounds like you've found the power of surrendering this weekend, to something more valuable than the resounding clash of ideas - to accepting the beauty of the world around us. Namaste.

Janice...

I admit that I had to look up the word Namaste, and thank you very much!

Kris...

LOL I actually thought about adding that to the post but then decided that I didn't want to go there! Great minds think alike!

Richard - time to unwind and relax. Great pictures. We are heading up that way tomorrow for a couple of days in cooler, less humid weather. The colors won't be so great, but, it is nice anytime of the year.

Beautiful photos!  I love the peace, quite and natural beauty of the Smokies ( being a Tennessee Girl). I can just hear the music in my head " Take me home, country roads!"  Thanks for sharing these. I have a smile on my face now!  Dixie

Richard - Your photos are simply stunning.  Thank you so much for sharing this visual respite on a peaceful Sunday morning.  Now go outdoors, soak up some of nature's energy, breathe deep and relax.  The world will continue to spin ... and we will all be here tomorrow.  :)

Richard, Your photos have such a distict style to them. The one of the water is really neat. I like the smoky smooth quality of the water over the rocks.

I think that I am starting to suffer burn out and need to visit some of the places you have pictured above.

Fall colors are coming soon.
